Have You Ever Been Saved by Music?

The impact of the pandemic on Louisiana music and musicians has been immeasurable, leaving a region renowned for it vibrant traditions to sit in silence. Since March 2020, the Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund has been working to mitigate the loss of income to musicians and culture bearers statewide.

“Rise and Shine,” featuring Trombone Shorty, Roger Lewis, Julian Gosin, and some of New Orleans' next generation of musicians, is a story about how music can not only save a city but that it at some point, in all of our lives, it has saved us. In a powerful and uplifting way, it lets us know we now have a chance to return the favor.

The Relief Fund

If you’ve ever leaned on music to get you through hard times, here’s your chance to return the favor. Every dollar donated goes directly to musicians sidelined by the Covid shutdown, in hopes of preserving the musical traditions of New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta for generations to come.
